Speaking to Yasin from the ski shop last week I learned that the first descents from the gondola have already been made this season. There is currently a couple of feet of snow on the higher parts of the mountain, however skiing all the way down to Gulmarg is not yet possible. More snow is definately needed, though there is some good powder. Guide Paul Exall said today, there's a lot of the big rocks still showing on the top section, but good powder in between.
